I was pleased to read your article as it hit the nail on the head.
When the original story appeared in The Straits Times, I was truly horrified by the behaviour of Singaporean parents and am totally embarrassed to be one myself.
Although my children are not and will never be sports stars, I could empathise with Yee Cher and his parents. How traumatic it must be for a child to have to endure insults from adults, simply because he excels at his sport.
And what terrible role models these parents are to their own children.
I shudder to think of the generation of youngsters growing up with role models such as these. We need more voices such as yours to wake these ugly Singaporeans up.
Well done! A fantastic piece of honest journalism.
