Brazil's Olympic football team has vowed to put the simmering club-versus-country feud behind them after getting their Beijing preparations underway in Singapore on Thursday.
Werder Bremen's Diego and Schalke 04's Rafinha, who irked their clubs by joining coach Dunga's 16-man squad, said they will focus on the task at hand: winning Brazil's first-ever Olympic football gold.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter waded into the row on Thursday, insisting that clubs are obliged to release players under 23 years for the Olympic Games.
His comments were welcomed by Dunga who added that nothing but a gold medal will do when the Games kick next month.
He said of Blatter: "What the FIFA President did is normal. It is normal that does that."
On the exclusion of Real Madrid Robinho in the squad, Dunga said: "Real Madrid exercised their right. Robinho is a good player, but Brazil has a good and strong squad with or without him. This decision is out of my hands, because they followed FIFA rules. What happened is beyond me."
Brazil captured the Olympic silver medal in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, and the bronze medal in the 1996 Games, but has yet to strike gold.
