Alam shah's quiet return
Sat, Aug 30, 2008

By Wang Meng Meng

NINE months after his infamous assault on Daniel Bennett, Noh Alam Shah made his long-awaited comeback - and, perhaps, embarked on the road back to the national team.

The Tampines Rovers striker, banned worldwide for seven months for violent conduct in last season's Singapore Cup final, came on as a 53rd-minute substitute in his club's 1-2 S-League loss to Gombak United at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Although he failed to score, Alam Shah was given generous applause by the 1,733 spectators when he came on and at the final whistle.
