KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore paddler Feng Tianwei beat fellow teammate Wang Yuegu to claim bronze in the Women World Cup Table Tennis held in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
21-year-old Feng won in four games, beating Wang 11-8, 11-9, 11-7 and 11-8 for third spot.
Both Singaporean paddlers made it to the semi-finals, but lost out for a spot in the finals.
Feng had earlier beaten top seed and World No 2, Guo Yue of China, in the quarter-finals.
On Sunday, however, she had no answer to Hong Kong?s Tie Yana in the semis, who had also beaten
Singapore's Li Jiawei on her way to the finals. After taking the first set, 11-6, Feng lost 13-11, 11-8 and 11-7.
28-year-old Wang was also defeated in four games by China?s Li Xiaoxia 13-11, 11-2, 11-7 and 11-9.
The Singapore team consisting of captain Li, Feng and Wang won a silver in the team event at the recent Beijing
Olympics.
