Second Paralympic medal from deaf rider

>Singapore's second Paralympic medal has come from horse-rider Laurentia Tan.

She secured third place on 68.8 points with her horse NOTHING TO LOSE in the Individual Freestyle Grade 1A competition, and gave the Republic a second bronze in an Equestrian event on Thursday at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.

Tan was born with profound deafness, but overcame her handicap and performed to music. She also has cerebral palsy.

She is currently Singapore's first and only Paralympic medallist.
