$600,000 win for paddlers

NATIONAL paddlers Li Jiawei, Feng Tianwei and Wang Yuegu are expected to pocket about $200,000 each for winning a silver at last month's Beijing Olympics.

The trio are due to receive their cash incentives at Wednesday's Multi-Million Dollar Award Programme (MAP) awards ceremony, after ending the Republic's 48-year Olympic medal drought.

Under the programme, the paddlers are set to receive $750,000 for finishing second in a team event, but 20 per cent of the payout will go to the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA).
