Pro cycling race in Feb

By Terrence Voon

SINGAPORE'S long wait for another professional cycling event is over.

Some of the world's top road cyclists will be in town on Feb 22 for the inaugural OCBC Cycle Singapore, which will boast a total prize purse of $100,000. The amount is believed to be the largest for a cycling event here.

Former Olympic medallists, stage winners of tours and national champions are all expected to take part in the event, which is the first major cycling competition here since the now-defunct Pesta Sukan Tour of Singapore in the 1990s.
