S'pore bowler wins silver

By Lin Xinyi

NATIONAL kegler Jazreel Tan won the silver medal in the Women's Singles category at the IV Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championship in Belfast, Ireland on Monday.

Going into the sixth and final game, Jazreel was leading the 32-strong field. Her closest rival Sin Li Jane of Malaysia was 31 pinfalls behind.

But the 18-year-old Singapore Sports School student's final game score of 212 meant that she had to settle for silver. Sin took gold after she felled 256 pinfalls in her last game, for a 1395 total - just 13 pins more than Jazreel.
