More than 180 torch bearers, as well as an estimated 70,000 participants, will kick-start the Asian Youth Games (AYG) over two days, June 28 and 29.
With community celebrations, a city relay, and a journey through 45 schools, this unique torch relay will rally Singaporeans from all over the island to join in the Games.
JUNE 28 (SUNDAY) COMMUNITY LEG
FIVE COMMUNITY CELEBRATIONS:
- Yio Chu Kang Stadium (Central Singapore District)
- Republic Polytechnic (North West District)
- Pasir Ris Elias Community Club (North East District)
- Jurong Point (South West District)
- East Coast Park (South East District)
- Three torches to be lit at Kallang Waterfront, then taken to community celebrations in North West District, Central Singapore District and North East District.
- Torch from North West District will then travel to South West District, while torch from North East District will move on to South East District.
TORCH FROM CENTRAL SINGAPORE DISTRICT WILL BE PASSED TO CITY RELAY:
- Tanglin Mall to AYG Village at Swissotel The Stamford.

JUNE 29 (MONDAY) - YOUTH LEG
- Three torches to be lit at AYG Village.
- Three routes (Excellence, Friendship and Respect) starting from AYG Village.
- Cultural, racial and sports celebrations in 45 schools (Each school represents one participating Olympic Council of Asia at the AYG.)
- Torches to be passed from school to school. Each school will hold its own relay inside its compounds.
- Torch bearers will be principals, teachers, students and parents.
- Showcase schools' sporting histories, and cultures of their assigned twinning countries.
- Ends at Opening Ceremony in Singapore Indoor Stadium.
