S'pore bowler wins 1st gold

NATIONAL bowler New Hui Fen has won Singapore's first gold medal at the Asian Youth Games.

The 17-year-old bowled 1,359 pinfalls over six games at Orchid Country Club on Wednesday to take top honours.

She was a comfortable 45 pinfalls ahead of Japan's Misaki Mukotani with South Korea's Oh Nu-ri taking bronze, a further six pinfalls behind.
