Chinese company appointed merchandise licensee for Singapore 2010 YOG

SINGAPORE, 16 July 2009 - Singaporeans can look forward to the first series of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games merchandise in stores by October or November this year.

The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Committee (SYOGOC) had appointed Chinese manufacturer, Beijing Huajiang Culture Development Co., Ltd. (Honav), as its Master Merchandise Licensee on 3 July 2009.

Honav will carry out research, design, manufacture and retailing of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games merchandise categories such as collectibles, gifts and accessories, home furnishing, publishing, stationery and office supplies.

At the appointment of master merchandise licensee ceremony, Mr Chen Shaoshu, General Manager of Honav said, "It is Honav's great honour to be appointed the Master Merchandise Licensee for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games."

Honav won the licensing rights as its company's cultural focus matches YOG ideals which aims to inspire youth around the world to embrace, embody and express the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect.

Mr Chen said, "Honav aims to capture the culture of the host country through the products we design
and manufacture,"

"As the inaugural Youth Olympic Games, Honav is dedicated to developing a high value collection with products focusing on the 'first' concept."

Honav also plans to operate at least two Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Stores, and other retail outlets in Singapore.
