Djokovic adds to Nadal woes, Davydenko through

LONDON (Reuters) - Novak Djokovic completed Rafael Nadal's ATP World Tour Finals misery on Friday with a 7-6 6-3 defeat of the Spaniard but saw his semi-final hopes dashed when Nikolay Davydenko qualified by beating Robin Soderling to complete Group B.

Serbian Djokovic claimed his second Group B victory but Davydenko's 7-6 4-6 6-3 win over Swedish surprise Soderling meant the Russian claimed the runners-up spot in the group with a better sets ratio.

Defending champion Djokovic, who ensured that the off-form Nadal packed his bags having lost all six sets he contested this week in the superb O2 Arena, needed Davydenko to lose to maintain his interest in the tournament.

Late stand-in Soderling, who beat both Nadal and Djokovic in straights sets earlier in the group, is rewarded for his impressive week by avoiding world number one Roger Federer in the semis. He will face Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro while Davydenko must tackle the Swiss.
