TIGER Woods' shattered wife, Elin, has given him one last chance. In a dramatic change of heart, the former model has told the disgraced golfer: "You have six months to prove you won't cheat again to save our marriage."
She made the decision after meeting doctors at the clinic treating her 34-year-old husband's sex addiction.
They convinced her that he has made remarkable progress, reported The Daily Mirror.
Last Saturday, a close friend of 30-year-old Elin said: "She has been convinced there is hope for the marriage.
"The doctors told her she shouldn't underestimate Tiger's ability to learn coping skills and grow as a person.
"She has been convinced by the professionals that there is hope - and this isn't lawyers or businessmen giving her advice, it's doctors. And they say he has made remarkable progress."
Her decision comes just weeks after she told friends she hated the world's top golfer, and was planning to end their five-year marriage and move back to Sweden with daughter Sam, two, and son Charlie, one.
But when Woods checked out of his sex-rehabilitation clinic last Friday, Elin - who also took part in counselling sessions - was there to collect him.
During his treatment, Woods apparently admitted to romps with nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel, 34, waitress Jaimee Grubbs, 26, and one other mistress.
Elin, Woods and their children are now staying together at a friend's house in Florida and are planning a second honeymoon on his S$31.1-million yacht, Privacy.
The Sunday Mirror reported that the whole family will move back to their Florida mansion next week. Meanwhile, rumours are swirling that Woods is already considering a return to competitive golf - at this month's Accenture Matchplay in Arizona.
The Melbourne Herald Sun has claimed that his management has been in contact with organisers of the World Golf Championship event, which will be played from next Wednesday to Sunday.
The BBC say that a "reliable source" has since backed up the Australian report.
Most people do not expect him to return before next month at the earliest, though it was the Accenture Matchplay he chose to make his comeback from injury last year.
He won the tournament in 2003, 2004 and 2008 and has not missed the event since 2001, when it was played in Australia.
