World figure skating champion Kim Yu-na will name her new coach possibly early next month, her agent announced on Tuesday.
Kim has two or three candidates in mind, according to her agency AT Sports.
"She wants to stay in L.A. as many of her skating activities are concentrated in the United States. So we are in search for one who can teach her in L.A.," a spokeswoman from the agency told The Korea Herald.
While her former coach Brian Orser was paid hourly fees, this time Kim is likely to hire a full-time coach, according to her agency.
The spokeswoman, however, declined to reveal the names of the candidates.
"We'll contact the candidates later this month, and hopefully we will appoint her new coach some time in October," she added.
Vancouver Olympic gold medalist Kim Yu-na moved her training site from Toronto, Canada, to Los Angeles earlier this month, after parting with Orser.
The 20-year-old star announced earlier that she will miss the Grand Prix series competitions next month.
