M'sian traffic cops go undercover

>MORE than 5,000 police officers were deployed in Malaysia yesterday for OpsSikap XIII, an operation aimed at reducing road accidents and fatalities during the Aidilfitri holiday season.

Bukit Aman Traffic Police Chief SAC II Hamza Taib revealed that apart from uniformed staff, 200 officers will go undercover as commuters to make checks public transportation, particularly on express and tour buses, he told Bernama.

The statistics on the first day of Ops Sikap XIII will be revealed later today. There were 25 deaths and 921 accidents on the first day of Ops Sikap XII last year.
