SINGTEL is readying a new state-of-the-art data centre at Kim Chuan that will deliver secure network infrastructure services, Singapores biggest telecom operator said on Wedneday.

The Kim Chuan Telecommunications Centre 2 (KCTC-2), ready by 2010, will offer 150,000 square feet of space for data centre needs, making it one of the biggest in Singapore.

The telco sees the growth of high-performance computing and the IN2015 government IT initiative driving up demand for such facilities.

The new centre is also said to sport 'green' technology, which will use energy and water efficiently.
