Don't let use of electronic devices become a hazard

my paper

I REFER to the report, 'Heavy usage linked to brain cancer.'

The decade-long research in 13 nations conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) has revealed a link between the heavy use of mobile phones and brain cancer.

Although I am not a medical expert and did not study medicine or work in the field, I can say that it is common knowledge that there will be negative effects on our health if we use mobile phones too much daily.

This is a worrying trend as more younger people - from primary school pupils to young working adults - have their mobile phones and other devices, such as MP3 players, glued to their ears.

In addition, the loud sounds and music that mobile phones and other portable electronic devices emit could damage the eardrums in the long run.

There is also a hazard posed by the increasing number of people who use such devices while walking or, worse, when crossing the road.

As technology develops and becomes cheaper and more accessible to the masses, it has brought us a host of benefits.

However, let us remember that while such devices make our lives easier, their use should not be allowed to become a hazard.
