SINGAPORE - The 2011 GCE A-level results were announced today at 2.30pm.
A total of 14,262 candidates sat the exam last year, of which 12,943 (90.8 per cent) scored at least three H2 passes, with a pass in General Paper (GP) or Knowledge and Inquiry (KI).
The number of percentage passes remained unchanged from the previous year.
Nine students achieved a perfect score of nine distinctions, The Straits Times reported.
Six of them are from Raffles Institution (RI), two are from Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) and one from River Valley High School.
RI's top students are He Zhiyuan, Jin Chentian, Khoo Jia Hui, Raghunathan Adithya, Tiffany Seah and Zhang Mengshi.
Among the top performing students from HCI are Desmond Toh and Khor Shi-Jie. They also obtained a total of 9 distinctions at 13 academic units (AUs).
Over half of the 1200 students who took the A-levels last year at HCI scored at least three H2 distinctions, with more than 200 students scoring seven distinctions and better.
