Scoot launches Singapore-Tianjin route

SINGAPORE - Low-cost carrier Scoot today launched a new route from Singapore to Tianjin, China.

This is the airline's first destination in China, where it will be flying to three times a week.

Scoot will depart from Singapore's Changi Terminal 2 at 1.30am and arrive in Tianjin Binhai International Airport at 7.30am the following day. The return flight departs Tianjin at 9.15am and arrives into Singapore at 3.05pm.

To celebrate the launch which falls on Valentine's Day of the Chinese calendar, all guests aboard the inaugural service from Singapore will be accompanied by radio deejay Jeff Goh from Love 97.2FM.

Scoot's Weibo followers will have the chance to win vouchers and tickets when they spot Jeff and his friends. In addition, Scoot will also be giving out prizes to lucky winners onboard its first service to Tianjin and back, it said in a media statement.

Subsequently, Scoot will increase the service to four times weekly from Sept 9, 2012.
