Singapore's online citizen journalism website, Stomp, was the biggest winner at the fourth Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) Awards held at Arts House last evening.
The Singapore Press Holdings website was the only participant to pick up two awards: the Best Mobile Application and the coveted Judges' Choice awards for its iPhone app.
The special Judges' Choice award, created only last year, was given to innovations that have the greatest market potential. The judges picked the Stomp iPhone app for its clever use of mobile technology to facilitate instant news broadcasts by the public, thus encouraging citizen journalism.
The SiTF Awards is organised by the SiTF to recognise innovative IT applications and solutions developed in Singapore.
A total of 13 teams were awarded for various technological products or applications.
Editor of Stomp, Mr Chew V'Ming said: "These awards reaffirm what the Stomp team has been doing: connecting, engaging, and interacting with our readers in Singapore."
It doesn't stop here - Stomp is already working on the next version of their iPhone app and will be launching the Android version soon, revealed Mr Chew.
