Malaysian actress charged with hurting ex-hubby

PETALING JAYA - An actress was charged in the magistrate's court here yesterday with hurting her former husband by scratching his arm.

Sharifah Nadia Yusnita Abd Hanif, 33, pleaded not guilty to the summons charge of causing hurt to Lob Mahadir Abdul Syukur, a businessman, at Sekolah Kebangsaan Chee Wen in USJ 1, about 10.30am on Nov 25 last year.

Magistrate Mohd Hezri Shaharil fixed April 22 for mention.

The actress, dressed in a yellow striped top and black pants, was represented by lawyer Yusmadi Yusoff while deputy public prosecutor Saphirra Selamat prosecuted.

The offence carries a maximum jail term of one year, or a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both, if found guilty. Sharifah starred in a local movie Diari Romeo in 2003.
