Hello Kitty gets Tokidoki spin at 7-Eleven stores

SINGAPORE - Let your head explode from the extreme Hello Kitty cuteness.

Simone Legno, the Italian-born, United States-based designer in love with "kawaii" (Japanese for "cute") culture and famed for his Tokidoki figurines, has put his signature spin on one of the world's best-loved characters.

Kitty is now dressed in Legno's cactus suits, rides a scooter with whimsical Tokidoki character Adios, and is dressed as Tokidoki cow-character Leche.

Tokidoki designs have been featured on limited-edition Onitsuka Tiger sneakers and LeSportsac bags in the past.

There are 10 figurines to collect, available only at 7-Eleven convenience stores. The promotion ends on June 4, or when stocks run out. To collect them, spend $4 at any 7-Eleven store to get a stamp. Collect 18 stamps to get a figurine.

If you're impatient, get six stamps and pay $3.90 for a figurine.
