McDonald's runs out of curry sauce - again

SINGAPORE - Bad news: McDonald's has run out of curry sauce again - or so it seems.

The popular condiment will not be available at "many" outlets worldwide, the fast food chain said in a recent statement online.

It is unclear which countries and how many of them are affected.

A reader, who is fan of the sauce, told AsiaOne it was not available at the drive-through kiosk of Ang Mo Kio branch when he requested for it after purchasing a meal yesterday.

Managing Director Judy Harman explained in a Facebook post that their recent batch of curry sauce had been withdrawn from circulation due to compromised packaging.

However, the good news is that McDonald's will be giving out free treats from Feb 10-24, 2012 to make up for the temporary cut in supply.

When curry sauce was last pulled from the menu by McDonald's restaurants, curry sauce fans flocked to the fast food chain's facebook page to vent their frustration, reported citizen journalism website Stomp.

The online furore then prompted McDonald's to issue a statement saying that they were waiting from stock to arrive from the United States.

But when the product became available again - this time, with a different packaging and taste - fans voiced their displeasure online again.

Apparently, it was found that a key ingredient in the product had been changed.
