Good to set higher minimum age for Muslim marriages
Fri, Mar 07, 2008
my paper

I STRONGLY support the move of raising the minimum marriage age for Muslims from 16 to 18.

Most divorce cases in the community involve youths, whom I believe are not ready for marriage.

Many of them might think that marriage is easy but much patience and sacrifices are needed to make it work.

We should also look at their financial statuses, to see if they are financially prepared for married life.

Most divorces are a result of financial difficulties.

To get married, one must have a stable job so that he or she can support the family.
