Customers eating fruits off the shelf at Giant Pasir Ris
Mon, Jun 23, 2008
MYP

I recently shopped at the Giant supermarket at Pasir Ris and I must say that I am pleased with the products the supermarket offers it has almost everything, ranging from toys to food and even camping gear.

However, the good image of the supermarket did not stay in my mind for long.

My family and I saw something disturbing at the fruits section some shoppers were eating the fruits, right off the shelves.

They just peeled off the skin of the fruits on the spot and popped them into their mouths without paying for them.
Worst of all, they left the skins lying around the display shelves, making the place unhygienic.

These acts happened mostly at the area where longans, lychees and grapes were displayed.

During that particular trip, my mother had wanted to buy a bunch of grapes but was disgusted by a mother who prompted her child to pluck and eat some of the grapes on display.

We left the fruits section hastily, with no intention of returning.

I hope the supermarket staff responsible for the fruits section would take action against these irresponsible people, otherwise more people would shun the section and this could result in losses for the business. --myp
