Why air-condition changing room?

I WAS at Serangoon Stadium on Sunday and noticed that the male changing room was empty but air-conditioned.

I understand that the changing room is meant for football players to cool down after a match, but can you imagine taking a hot shower with the air-conditioner on?

Why waste electricity, especially when the Government is calling on citizens to help conserve energy?
