I AM sad and disappointed that Gong Li and many other foreign celebrities have been accused of being traitors due to their giving up their citizenship to take on Singapore citizenship.

Many former Chinese nationals gave up their Chinese citizenship to become citizens of countries such as Singapore, the United States, Croatia and Germany. Singapore has welcomed many foreign talents from China in various fields, such as sports.

Those who accuse such people of being traitors to China are being absurd.
