Kudos to IR for recognising experience

my paper

I REFER to the report, "800 jobs with Resorts World at Sentosa up for grabs" (my paper, March 8), which detailed the vacancies available at integrated resort Resorts World at Sentosa (RWS).

It is encouraging to note that RWS does not require applicants for gaming and non-gaming positions to possess a degree.

The fact that RWS is prepared to accept applicants with lower qualifications if they have more working experience is an indication that it values experience just as much as paper qualifications.

It is also good that the integrated resort is looking for applicants with a positive attitude and qualities such as passion, adaptability and quick thinking.

RWS should be commended for its openness to offering these new positions not only to qualified jobseekers, but also to those who lack a degree but who are able to perform the jobs well with proper training.

Mr Nelson Quah
