Escalators or lifts at overhead bridges
Tue, Oct 27, 2009
my paper

I REFER to a recent newspaper report on jaywalkers.

Ten pedestrians interviewed cited convenience as the reason they jaywalk.

While this may be the case for some, for others, jaywalking is a necessity.

How can you blame the elderly and the disabled for jaywalking when they are unable to use overhead bridges?

To deter jaywalking, the authorities should provide escalators or lifts at all overhead bridges.
