Condo resident, but told to park at visitors? space

my paper

MY CAR was involved in an accident, so the workshop which I took it to for repairs lent me a courtesy car.

Security guards at the condominium where I live " Rivervale Crest in Sengkang " told me I could not park the car at the basement carpark, which is reserved for residents' vehicles.

I would have to park it at the visitors' parking space instead.

I was puzzled. As a resident, I have a valid parking label, which gives me access to the basement carpark.

I explained my situation to the security guards and was told to approach the management office.

I went there the next day and the staff turned down my request to park at the basement carpark.

I was told that it was the rule " my car could be wheelclamped " and I could write in if I wanted to.

I feel harassed at my own home, as the security guards call me on my mobile phone, knock on my door and serve me notices of illegal parking, all in the name of protecting the rights of the residents, though I am one.

The handling of this incident shows how inflexible and high-handed management corporations in condominiums can be.

This problem can be easily solved by providing me with a temporary valid parking label.

However the management corporation is not willing to do so and has made things difficult for a resident.
