A car for nearest the pin, where the ball has to be within a two-metre diameter of the hole?
Yes, that happened once last year, but there was no winner.
A car for nearest the pin within a four-metre diameter of the hole?
No, it's been never done before.
But it will be the special carrot for this year's American International Assurance-Singapore Cancer Society (AIA-SCS) Charity golf game on 16 July.
The organisers have decided to make it easier for golfers to win the car, a Mitsubishi Lancer EX 1.5, because there was no winner last year.
The designated hole is the 120-metre par-three 11th hole at Tanah Merah Country Club's (TMCC) Tampines course which is over water and the green is flanked by three bunkers.
At a media conference yesterday at TMCC, Mark O'Dell, executive vice-president and general manager of AIA, said: 'We hope someone will win the car this year and that would really call for celebration.
'This is also one way to thank the sponsors who have supported this fund-raising event, especially those who come forth year after year.'
According to TMCC records, there has been only one hole-in-one in the past year at hole No. 11, by Harry Hong in June last year.
AIA staff and Agency Force are also contributing to this worthy cause by supporting O'Dell's longest drive attempt at hole 6.
They can either pledge a lump sum donation or by per metre that O'Dell drives.
All funds raised will be channelled through the SCS to its Cancer Treatment Fund, which will help the treatment for needy cancer patients.
So far, more than $600,000 has been raised through the AIA-SCS Charity Golf 2008. This year's target is $1 million.
A Mercedes Benz E200 Kompressor is the prize for a hole in one at holes 3 and 13.
Among the sponsors for the event are Khiam Chuan Marine Pte Ltd and New Century Foundation (both platinum sponsors) and Singapore Press Holdings (a major sponsor).
