Some tips on how to use appliances safety and what to do in case of a leak.

  • Install gas appliances in well-ventilated areas and maintain adequate ventilation
  • Open windows and doors for ventilation while cooking or operating a gas appliance.
  • Contact your gas retailer or engage a licensed gas service worker if you wish to have the gas pipes or gas appliance repaired or replaced.

In case of a gas leak:

  • Extinguish any cigarettes or naked flames.
  • Turn off the gas control valve at the gas meter.
  • Open all windows and doors to ventilate the area.
  • Do not switch on or off any electrical or light switches.
  • Do not try to detect the gas leak with a flame.
  • Do not use telephones in the area of a gas leak.
  • Leave the house if there is a strong smell of gas.
