Some tips on how to use appliances safety and what to do in case of a leak.
- Install gas appliances in well-ventilated areas and maintain adequate ventilation
- Open windows and doors for ventilation while cooking or operating a gas appliance.
- Contact your gas retailer or engage a licensed gas service worker if you wish to have the gas pipes or gas appliance repaired or replaced.
In case of a gas leak:
- Extinguish any cigarettes or naked flames.
- Turn off the gas control valve at the gas meter.
- Open all windows and doors to ventilate the area.
- Do not switch on or off any electrical or light switches.
- Do not try to detect the gas leak with a flame.
- Do not use telephones in the area of a gas leak.
- Leave the house if there is a strong smell of gas.
