SHE wanted to take revenge against the 13-year-old girl for bad-mouthing her.

So Nor Azura Omar, 16, arranged for a man whom she got to know through a chatline to meet her at a Woodlands block on 28 Jun, 2008.

Nor Azura, the victim, the man, and eight other teenage accomplices went to a fourth floor staircase landing that afternoon.

The victim was forced to lie down.

There, Nor Azura instigated the man to have sex with the victim to 'break her virginity'.

But the man failed, so she forced the victim to perform oral sex on him instead. Meanwhile, Nor Azura filmed the episode using her handphone.

The man left after that but Nor Azura was still bitter. She and her accomplices then slapped and kicked the victim, and stripped her to further humiliate her.

A day before the attack, Nor Azura and two accomplices went to Causeway Point, where they shoplifted items worth about $44 from two shops.

The things they stole included a soft toy, a bottle of cologne and silver jewellery.

On 24 Jul, she stole an acquaintance's bag, which contained two handphones worth $428.

Nor Azura pleaded guilty to five charges, including rioting, outrage of modesty and instigating rape.

Six other charges relating to the sexual assault and theft were taken into consideration during sentencing.

Community Court Judge May Mesenas asked about Nor Azura's plans if she was given an opportunity to rehabilitate.

Wants to be good

Her lawyer, Mr Noor Mohamed Marican, said that the teenager wants to 'be a good girl, continue her studies, and eventually return to her foster mother'.

He also said that he impressed upon Nor Azura how much the victim had suffered in this case.

Court documents stated that the victim was still very scared that Nor Azura would take revenge on her.

When asked about this, Nor Azura promised that she would not. She also agreed to write a letter to apologise to the victim.

Before passing sentence, the judge told Nor Azura: 'There are other ways to deal with the pains and hurts in your life.

'I hope that you will work towards leading a normal life, go back to school, and eventually work.'
