SINGAPORE'S Lam Chih Bing and Mardan Mamat are hoping to draw inspiration from the Republic's women's table tennis team as they do battle at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup starting tomorrow. 'Our table tennis girls have proven that Singaporeans can create an impact on the world stage with their silver medal victory at last year's Beijing Olympics,' said Lam. 'I think coming into the World Cup, both Mardan and I have been playing reasonably well of late, so we would like to go out there and hopefully impress like how our compatriots have done.' The Singaporean duo qualified for their fourth World Cup appearance after winning the qualifiers in August, reported asiantour.com. Singapore's best finish at the World Cup was in 1984 when Lim Swee Wah and Lim Kian Tiong finished joint-10th. Mardan is hoping to continue his rich vein of form from last week where he finished tied for third in Cambodia. 'I'm improving on my putting and my partner Chih Bing is in a good form this year so we're in good hands,' said Mardan.
