Stand by your man (Part 1)

LADIES, what would you do if your husband went to a brothel?

A) Scratch his eyes out.

B) Sue for divorce.

C) Say it's okay as your poor husband is under stress. If you picked "C", then you have for company a woman who once drank her own urine  on TV.

The wife of English Premier League club manager Avram Grant used the "stress" factor yesterday in defence of her husband.

Said Israeli actress Tzofit Grant, who has been married to Grant for 16 years: "He works so hard, I think he deserves a massage once a day, and from two women, not one."

Grant, who manages Portsmouth, was caught by a British newspaper last year visiting a Thai brothel. It was unable to name him until this week due to a court injunction.

Ms Tzofit, 46, a mother of two, claimed the place where he was caught was not a brothel, reported the Sun.

Speaking from her home in a plush district of Israeli capital Tel Aviv, she said: "It's not a brothel but a massage parlour.

"Considering the pressure that Avram is under at Portsmouth, I'm angry with him for not going every day for a massage. Avram loves a massage.

"He enjoys an Australian massage, a Japanese massage and a Thai massage.

"I'm looking forward to coming to England to visit and having a massage there with him."

Mrs Grant is an Israeli TV celebrity know for her multi-coloured hair and her love for removing her clothes.

She infamously once downed a whisky tumbler of her urine on a show she fronted called Milkshake.

She said: "It's his business what he does with his body, and he certainly has not damaged our marriage.

"He doesn't have to tell me everything. He doesn't tell me he went to the store to buy milk.

"I told Avram immediately after he told me about it that you don't have to account to anybody about what you do with your body.

"Who goes to a brothel in the middle of the day wearing a Portsmouth kit when he knows he is a recognisable personality?

"We are talking about a massage parlour where they give massages."

The Daily Telegraph disclosed yesterday, Mr Grant, 54, may be questioned as a witness by police as part of an ongoing investigation into the brothel, which is near Portsmouth's training ground.

Ms Tzofit also said it has been tough going for her husband at the struggling premiership club, reported the Daily Telegraph.

"I swear on my children's lives that I am not mad at him... He's the manager of Portsmouth."

"Do you know how tough that is? He's a great manager stuck in a crappy team."

Bottom club

Portsmouth are currently bottom of the Premier League and suffering a financial crisis that this week saw the ownership of the club change hands for the fourth time this season.

Yesterday, Mr Grant was assured that his job at Portsmouth was safe after he discussed the brothel visit with club officials. A source said: "The club will not be making any comment officially, but these allegations do not affect Avram's job.

"This is a personal matter and what Avram gets up to in his free time is his own business."

Ms Tzofit said she could not understand "what all the fuss is about in Britain" because her husband is not a publicly elected figure, reported the Sun.

She added: "I don't know why what he did is being compared to what John Terry did (The Chelsea captain allegedly had an affair with his best friend's wife).

"There is no comparison, although John Terry's private life is also not the business of the media.

"We should also make a distinction between a famous person and an elected person.

"He doesn't owe anybody explanations about what he does."
