SEX addict Tiger Woods' wife has chosen to stand by him as he deals with his problems.

Ms Elin Nordegren has flown to the clinic to be with the golfing great.

"She says she can't leave him now," the friend told OK! magazine. "She's a big part of his potential recovery."

Tiger is in a strict six-week programme called the Gentle Path.

"A lot of it has to do with Tiger and (his mother) Tida's early relationship. He was unsympathetic," said the friend.

"Then Tiger found a wife who was the opposite - a professional nanny - but it was too late. He wasn't able to get what he needed."

The magazine said that Ms Nordegren even had three-hour sessions with experts at the clinic as often as three times a day.

"She tells me she has learned that sex was a way to ease his anxiety, like having a drink," said the friend. RadarOnline.com also reported that Ms Nordegren has called off the divorce.

When Tiger leaves the clinic, he and Ms Nordegren plan to go away together, sources told RadarOnline.com. "Tiger and Elin want to be alone out of public when he leaves the clinic," a source said.

The celebrity website said that her trip was also to take him home. "He should be out by the weekend," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.

"They are giving their marriage another try."
