HONG KONG - An unemployed middle-aged man was arrested on Wednesday in relation to the release of racy celebrity photos on the Internet, said police yesterday.

Police found 12 obscene pictures in the man's computer but have yet to uncover the role he played in circulating the photos, reported Oriental Daily News.

They made the arrest after tracing his Internet Protocol (IP) address.

Apple Daily, citing sources, said that as of Wednesday, police have found more than 30 unique IP addresses in connection with the case and asked Internet companies for information of the users linked to the addresses.

The report said more arrests are expected.

Wednesday's arrest came after a picture allegedly showing singer-actors Edison Chen and Gillian Chung in bed was posted on the Net on Sunday.

More photos have since been released, including two latest ones on Wednesday that allegedly show actress Cecilia Cheung in a police uniform.

On Wedneday, the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild condemned the release of the photos.

Apple Daily quoted a source close to Chen as saying the Infernal Affairs actor liked taking intimate pictures of female friends and had photographed at least 14 stars. Chen would share the pictures with a few friends, the source said.

Both Cheung and Chung have been linked to Chen, while former artiste Bobo Chan, who is in one of the photos released, is an ex-girlfriend.

But Chung's company maintained on Wednesday that the images of her were fakes.
