Another huge scalp

KUALA LUMPUR: When the draw for the Volkswagen Women's World Cup quarter-finals was made yesterday evening, Feng Tianwei thought to herself: 'I guess it's shopping for me tomorrow.'

The Singapore table tennis player's reward for reaching the last eight after defeating the Netherlands' Li Jiao 4-1 in her last group fixture: A date with top seed and world No 2 Guo Yue.

Feng had never beaten the Olympic bronze medallist in three previous encounters. But she made the breakthrough at the Stadium Badminton Kuala Lumpur last night.
