A 15-MINUTE conversation was all it took to convince Mr Chew Hua Seng that it was a good idea to sink thousands into a design school.

Nineteen years later, his investment has provided handsomely for a life of security, and Mr Chew has decided he must pay it forward to the next generation.

He has pledged $100 million to set up the Chew Hua Seng Foundation.
