Long touted as rock music's ugly, retarded cousin, heavy metal has always had a raw deal when it comes to public perception.

But the music genre is alive and well, not just worldwide but in Singapore as well.

Metallica, one of the most iconic metal bands around, are releasing their highly anticipated return-to-form ninth album Death Magnetic today.
