Teachers called me 'Korean Girl'

Ms Suzanne Jung arrived in Singapore from South Korea in 1983. Home then was a three-room apartment in Holland Village, but the bachelorette has since moved into another three-room apartment, this time in Newton, with her parents.

'I consider myself half-Singaporean. Don't get me wrong - my parents are Koreans, I am a permanent resident here, but that's not why I consider myself half-Singaporean.

I am what Koreans call 'the 1.5 generation' - people who relocate to a new country before or during their early teens.
