FANS of the annual Chingay Parade will not only watch the event next year, but they can - for the first time - also be a part of it.

The People's Association, the organiser of the annual street parade, is rolling out a series of public programmes and workshops to get the public involved. In line with the parade theme, which is Project Wonderland, the parade grounds will be transformed into a magical wonderland, said Mr Nah Juay Hng, the event's chairman.

These programmes, to get more people involved and early on, have been organised with the help of partners like Straits Times online portal Stomp, Media- Corp's xin.sg and Wildlife Reserves Singapore.
