BRENDA Shee did not get a scolding when she returned home with swollen eyes and a bruised nose last evening.

The teenager instead received smiles and hugs from her family members and friends.

On Tuesday, the 17-year-old became the first Singaporean woman to win a medal at a world muay thai competition.
