SBA exec suspended from duty

THE high performance executive with the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) who pleaded guilty to theft about two weeks ago has been suspended from duty.

Ramesh Techinamurthi, 40, was sentenced to 20 weeks' jail by a District Court after admitting to stealing $425 last December while working as a sports executive at the Singapore Cricket Club.

SBA hired him in March without knowing about the case.
