Veterans help raise $5m

By Adeline Chia

The President's Star Charity on Sunday night featured stars from the past who helped raise $5.04 million for 31 home-grown charities.

The theme was Singapore Cabaret and the evening featured tuxedos and top hats for the men, and retro outfits and jazzy numbers for the women.

Guests included Veronica Young, 60, who sang the songs, Where The Boys Are and My Boy Lollipop, which made her popular in the 1960s. She flew in from France, where she has lived since 1990, for the event.
