Please judge, can we get married?

A TEENAGER who bore her boyfriend's child last year is seeking the High Court's permission to marry him, despite her parents' objection to the union.

This is believed to be the first case to have come before the courts here in recent times.

Under the Women's Charter, a female under 18 can get married only if her parents agree to it and the Minister of Community Development, Youth and Sports issues a special marriage licence.
