Muslim leader Embek Ali dies at age 79

WELL-KNOWN Muslim community leader Ustaz Embek Ali (picture below), who helped set up the regional relief organisation Mercy Relief, died yesterday morning.

He was 79 and died in hospital from an infection of the urinary tract.

He was an adviser and patron to Perdaus, the Adult Religious' Students Association, which he led for 25 years.
