PLANS to introduce four winter Olympic sports to Singaporeans have been put on ice.

The postponement follows an announcement by CapitaMall Trust on Tuesday that it will hold back on its plans to add an Olympic-sized ice-skating rink at the Jurong Entertainment Centre.

The delay might also have implications on Singapore's long-term future as a member of the International Skating Union (ISU), said Singapore Ice Skating Association (Sisa) president Sonja Chong.
