A GUIDE to help people make investments, especially in complex products, is being launched by the Securities Investors Association of Singapore (Sias).

Sias president and chief executive David Gerald said the handbook will reach out to a broader base of investors.

'Many people do not seem equipped enough with the required level of knowledge for investing in structured products,' he said, referring to the losses suffered by investors in the Lehman Minibonds and DBS High Notes debacle. The book should be completed in the next six months and the aim is to publish it in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil.
