Manchester United 4
Hull city 3

London, England - Manchester United moved to third place in the Premier League this morning, but they had to survive a late rally from Hull City before running out 4-3 winners.

Goals from Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic and a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo that took his tally to 99 strikes in 250 games for the Red Devils, ensured that Sir Alex Ferguson's men took full advantage of Arsenal's shock 1-2 loss at Stoke to leapfrog the Gunners in the standings.

United now have 21 points, five behind Chelsea and Liverpool, who were scheduled to meet Tottenham at press time.
